Our Story

From a single secondhand espresso machine to your neighbourhood's living room.

Coffee Ultra started in 2021 with a secondhand two-group espresso machine, a borrowed grinder, and a corner space that used to be a bicycle repair shop. The plan was simple: make the kind of coffee we wanted to drink ourselves, and make the space feel like an extension of the street — somewhere you’d come in for a flat white and end up staying an hour.

What we believe

Coffee is agriculture first. We buy from importers who publish what farmers are paid, and we name the farm and lot on every bag we sell.

Freshness is non-negotiable. Espresso is dialled in every morning. Beans on the shelf are never more than two weeks past roast. Pastries arrive from local bakers before we open.

A coffee shop is a public living room. No minimum spend, no laptop ban, no rush. Bring your dog, bring your kids, bring your chess board.

The people

We’re a small team of four. You’ll usually find one of us behind the machine, one at the brew bar, and the others arguing about which single-origin goes on filter next week.
